Few cars are as thoughtfully engineered or built, which helps to explain why Lancia encountered a great deal of financial trouble. The Flaminia was the flagship during these years, with elegant styling and sophisticated engineering features. Disc brakes, inboard at the rear, were standard, as was an all aluminum V6, descendant of one of the first V6 engines built, Lancias Aurelia engine. Rear suspension was of the de Dion type and a fully synchronized rear-mounted transaxle was also part of the specification. The car is full of fascinating engineering details showing that at Lancia during this period, it was engineers, not accountants who made decisions. A quick look in the engine compartment reveals an external oil cooler, as well as a neat set of thermostatically actuated mechanical blinds over the radiator. This car is very well preserved and in excellent substantially original condition. The body is extremely solid and displays good panel fit. The paint is very good overall. The chrome is very nice considering most of it is nearly 50 years old. The lights and glass are very nice as well. All lighting are in excellent shape and do not need replacement. They are all of the original and type, including the Carello headlamps. The car has lovely details, such as the subtle character lines on the roof (which are echoed on the trunk lid and on the front fenders), brushed rocker panels, and pillarless construction. The interior also has a number of interesting touches. The interior is in excellent original condition. The upholstery is excellent throughout, including on top of the dash, seats, and door panels. The gauges are wonderfully detailed items common to all Flaminias and are in excellent condition, as are the various switches and controls. The carpets are black, as are the headliner and visors, and are also in excellent condition. The engine is quite original and is extremely clean and correct. The components, fittings, and markings are all correct and unmolested, and the engine bay is extremely nice considering that the car has not been restored. The trunk is nicely carpeted and in good shape, with jack and tools. The car is an absolute joy to drive, and reminds why Lancia has such a devoted following. Every aspect of the cars performance embodies the quality feel that is lacking even from more exotic Italian machines from the same period. By comparison, most any other car feels crude. The engine makes great power and sound, and runs very smoothly. The chassis is quiet and composed, and the steering is light and precise. The transaxle shifts beautifully, and the brakes have tremendous bite and are extremely confidence inspiring. The overall feel is of a wonderfully coherent lcar that exudes quality. This is an absolutely stunning and unrepeatable opportunity to acquire a truly unique car. In all respects, the car is top tier. Its history is fascinating, illustrious, and unique, its appearance and condition are wonderful, and it is mechanically superb. It is difficult to overemphasize what a satisfying car this is to drive and behold, and its detailing is yet another reason why this car is so exceptional. It is documented with period magazine articles and owners manual. This car has excellent provenance, and is sure to appeal to the seasoned and sophisticated collector looking for something completely unique.. Right of the top I know I am going to miss a lot but if you have any questions I will try to answer them to the fullest. INTERIOR Black, new dash, digital gauges, grant steering wheel, custom center console with 2 speakers, new carpet flooring, Factory power convertible and AC (however previous owner unhooked but I do have all the parts minus the hoses), Apline Alarm system (remote is lost so unhooked), the knobs on the door handles keep falling off. EXTERIOR Dark Green but looks almost a gold in the sun light with 2 black racing strips down the hood and the back, The rims are American Racing and look like the new mustang billet wheels and the tire size is the same as the 90€™s camero so tires aren€™t too expensive. But tires are in good condition. The chrome is not rusted and shiny and lights all work and not cracked. Paint does have a little bubbling on the bottom front of driver door but hasn€™t changed sense I owned it. ENGINE/DRIVE TRAIN 289 bored to a 293, many chrome parts picture explains it better, what you can€™t see is that the transmission is a t5 which came out of a 70€™s mustang, does run a little rich, 4 barrel carb with front jets smaller to give it a little better fuel economy but don€™t worry it has power if you open it up EXTRAS I have a lot of the original equipment including, 3 speed transmission, 2 barrel carb,gauges, pedals, all paper work from rebuild to present, also the original paper work from the factory all the specs (original color was red),Has a parade boot also. This car is driven weekly and is only out on nice days. I am not going to hide anything about this car I want anyone to know what they are getting to the fullest without a surprise so talk to me and I will tell you anything and everything that I can answer. The A/C unit is still in the car but no longer complete (See Pictures). Now it supports a fresh built 406 Stroker backed with a Super T-10 4 speed and a freshly built GM 12 bolt with a new Posi unit with 3.73 gears. The engine has Forged Pistons, Howards Race Cam (Nice Idle Not too lumpy), Harland Sharp Roller Rockers, Dart Iron Eagle 202 Heads. Edelbrock Air Gap Intake and a Holley HP Carb. Exhaust is handled by Hooker Super Comp Headers through 2 1/2 inch pipes Flow Master mufflers and Stainless Steel tips. American Racing Torq-Thrust II Wheels. The front brakes have Wilwood 4 Piston Calipers. Has white face gauges in the 4 speed console. The car had Factory GM half quarters installed in the late 70's by the previous owner. It had new Fenders, Hood, Header Panel, Lower Valance, Fender Extensions and a GM Radiator Support. Car was Disassembled completely and then painted with a PPG Base Clear Coat paint in Black. It has New tail lights and housings along with New Bumpers and Door Handles. The front and rear window moldings are Originals that have been Repolished. New headliner and carpet. Seats are originals and in good shape. Needs nothing except a new owner. Runs and drives Great! No Joyriders or tire kickers need apply!
