NOT ON THIS YOU WON'T. THIS MODEL WAS THE FASTEST PRODUCTION MOTORCYCLE UNTIL THE JAPS TOOK OVER THE INDUSTRY IN '78 WITH THEIR YAMAHA XS1100. BAD AND BEAUTIFUL! THIS IS A FULLY RESTORED EXAMPLE FROM MY COLLECTION, WHICH HAD ONLY FOUR THOUSAND MILES ON PRIOR TO ITS FRAME OFF RESTO. THE FRAME AND ASSOCIATED BLACK BITS ARE ALL POWDER COATED TO A HIGH QUALITY. THE BODYWORK IS GLASURIT DUCATI RED, OTHERWISE KNOWN AS 'ARREST ME RED', 'RETAIL RED', OR 'SO RED IT MAKES YOUR EYES HURT'. NO OTHER RED IS AS DEEP AND WET LOOK AS THE DUCATI RED, HENCE MY CHOICE FOR THIS ITALIAN CLASSIC, THE FERRARI OF MOTORCYCLES. THE BIKE HAS ENJOYED SEVEN HUNDRED MILES SINCE ITS RESTORATION ON DRY ROADS. ALTHOUGH NOT A HUNDRED POINT BIKE ( FEW ARE ) IT IS CERTAINLY VERY, VERY DIFFICULT TO FAULT, AND ANY OWNER WOULD BE EXTREMELY PLEASED WITH ITS COSMETIC AND FUNCTIONAL CONDITION. AS YOU CAN SEE, THE BIKE COMES WITH THE MIRAGE ENGINE FAIRINGS AND HANDLE BAR MOUNTED HALF FAIRING, AS WELL AS A CUSTOM TANK COVER. THE FORKS ARE POLISHED 38mm 'CERIANIS', WHICH HAVE AN ITALIAN MANUFACTURED 'TAROZZI' FORK BRACE TO INCREASE THIER RIGIDITY. STAINLESS STEEL BRAIDED BRAKE LINES FRONT AND REAR. ALLOY DOG-LEG 'BREMBO' LEVERS. THE FRONT FENDER IS A VINTAGE 'RICKEY RACER' ITEM. THANKS LANCE! THE HANDLEBARS ARE THE INFINETELY ADJUSTABLE JOTA BARS, SURE TO PLEASE ANY RIDING POSITION. THE BIKE COMES WITH FACTORY ORIGINAL REAR SETS, NOT REPRODUCTIONS. SHIFTING IS ON THE LEFT, AS THE ITALIANS MEANT THEIR GUCCI LOAFERS TO OPERATE. THE TIRES ARE NEW,AS IN FIVE MILES, 'PIRELLI PHANTOMS' FRT. AND REAR. 'KONI' SHOCKS, (YOU'VE GOT TO LOVE THE DUTCH FOR ALL OF THOSE OTHER REASONS ) GRACE THE REAR. THE BIKE IS ALSO EQUIPPED WITH A GERMAN MADE ALUMINUM SQUARE TUBE, UNDER-BRACED SWING ARM WITH SUPER-TRICK CONCENTRIC CHAIN ADJUSTERS, ANODIZED RED, OF COURSE, WHICH CUTS UNSPRUNG WEIGHT. THE REAR SPROCKET IS CHROME, TO FURTHER ENHANCE THIS STEEDS CHARM. ALL CHROME IS NEW, AND EXPENSIVE TRIPLE CHROME FROM SHOW AND GO PLATING IN DALLAS, TX. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM. A 'GUARDIAN' 32AMP HOUR GEL BATTERY SITS IN THE STOCK LOCATION, AND UNLIKE MANY ITALIAN BIKES, THIS ONE CHARGES. THE ENGINE IS EQUIPPED WITH SEVERAL UPGRADES. For Sale - 1971,Honda, CL450 Scrambler 632059 1971 Honda CL 450 Scrambler $1,400 OBO Clear WI Title. Nice running bike with over $400 worth of work just completed. Frame sandblasted and repainted, original motor replaced with another 450CC. Replacement motor was torn down and rebuilt with new rings/gaskets. New clutch, Carbs rebuilt and synched. Fresh tune. Petcock rebuilt. New battery, New front and rear tires, New clutch and throttle cables, New chain, New fork seals and fluid replaced, All lights work, Exhaust in nice shape without leaks. Cosmetically the tank, side covers and fork ears could use a repaint as they are original, Seat cover has 1.5 inch tears along the side vertical seam where the seam stiching has opened just in front of the strap (this is common but hardly noticeable on a user bike). Chrome is in very nice shape for a user. Aluminum cases, hubs, forks have all been polished. Cylinder head was repainted with original silver. The front fender has a 1.5 inch “ding” in the very top between the forks. This is a very presentable bike and has a ridiculous amount of power and does not smoke whatsoever. It starts instantly with the electric start or with one kick. The only item needed is a replacement kill switch. Delivery available...let's talk.
